Noise and dropouts on Chromecast

Spotify used to play just fine on my 2'nd generation Chromecast, but the last week or so, it has been a big problem with the sound quality. It is some kind of static noise and crackling dropouts of the sound. I've tried both the Android app, and playback via the ordinary web-browser on a PC, but the problem persists. The Chromecast is connected to a Samsung TV. All other apps/services are working just fine on the unit.

Any ideas..?
