Onkyo TX-NR626 Problems

Onkyo TX-NR626 Problems

Hello! I have a problem with my Onkyo TX-NR626 AVR. I have the Premium-Account since today and the Onkyo is not playing any Songs. I`ve added a few playlists in the Desktop-App, but when I open them on my Onkyo there are no songs displayed and it says "Empty List". And even when the songs are showing up in the List, i cannot play them. I`ve already done a firmware-upgrade and a Reset, but nothing changed. Any other Webradio-Service is working fine, also local access to my NAS is working. Does anyone have a solution for this problem?

Thank you!

Are the tracks in the playlist in the Spotify client local files stored on your NAS or on that computer?

Unfortunately, the Spotify app for Onkyo won't have access to those local files on your NAS or computer which is why the playlist displays blank (it can only stream tracks directly from Spotify).

Hi Peter!

The tracks in the playlist are not local stored, I would stream them from the internet (generealy, i do not have saved any track offline from spotify yet). On the other devices streaming is working fine, but when i want to access or play the playlists from the onkyo AVR its not possible.

When I`m in the iphone-app for example, if I see an interesting Playlist created from Spotify (Example: Best songs from the 80s) and i click on "follow", the playlist appears in the list on my AVR, but i cannot play the tracks, nor are the tracks visible. Theres only the message "empty playlist". I think there are some problems with the spotify-internet connection on my AVR, as i said other webradio-services are working fine.

Do you have any solution?

Thank you!

I have the same model and my problem is that Spotify does not work at all. In the begging it did for a while but now it keep loading forever after the first login. I think maybe it's because the high number of playlist my user has or something like that 😕

Same issue with my 626....spotify did work initially, but now a simple search seems to crash the whole system...

you need a DEVICE PASSWORD which is to be set at spotify.com. then you recieve an email with device username and the just new set device password. after signing in, the onkyo reciever works absolutely brilliant. totally awesome!

Hi,

Hello,

Interesting, do you have the detalis on how to accomplish this? Does one contact Spotify to set a 'device password'?

ok, just checked on the Spotify site and a device password is required IF you signed up to S-fy through Facebook, which I did not do, so....

OOPS!! Just saw that Onkyo receivers are supported through 'premium subscribers'...    p***-poor move. TRANSLATION: Stick with Pandora...

Thought there was a problem with my spotify sign in on my New Onkyo 626. This whole problem was that Spotify does not allow the free version, supports only paid version on the web based receiver. Not Cool Spotify!!!! Pandora, Slacker no problem but very disappointed in Spotify.

Premium is needed to use Spotify on any partner hardware device I'm afraid.

I'm surprised to have received a notification from spotify, today..

yay...  right, whatever...   thought I actually closed my spotify account -will be double checking after I post. I have no need for spotify, whatsoever as Slacker is a much better platform.

Do the firmware upgrade released December 18th, 2014. Used a wired network connection to do it.

It allows you to used Spotify Connect and play from mobile device. Both mobile and the TX-NR626 must be on same network.
