PS4 App and Spotify Connect

I have a question and possibly an issue.  When using the PS4 app, I'm asked to log in either using Spotify connect on my phone, or using my username password.  I've used username/pass with no issue, however I'd like to be able to use spotify connect.

I do not have a premium subscription, so does using Spotify connect in conjunction with the PS4/3 apps require premium? I haven't found any definitive answer, but I know its required to use Spotify Connect for other devices. Just seems odd that it would be the first log in option, if its paywalled.

If it does not require premium - any idea why when I'm on my phone it gives me the "this is a premium only feature" screen when I try to click the icon to bring it up?  I have my Samsung Galaxy S3 connected to the same Wifi network as the PS4.

I've got the same issue and since I used my Facebook account, I have to wait two days apparently to even get an email to set a password for my account and why submit a ticket if it takes two days to even respond to that?

To anyone who has this same issue, or wants a diffinitive answer.

I resolved the issue of Connect not working with my PS4 by updating my spotify app on Android to the latest version.  After the update I was able to use spotify connect to connect to my PS4 and play music through it.

You do NOT need premium to use this feature in conjunction with a PS4.

All you have to do is sign in with your facebook email address and password

tyishaa thanks so much!  Can't tell you how frustrating this issue was and I never received a password reset email from Spotify despite multiple attempts.

First of all sorry for my bad english!. I dont know how to use this forum. 
I need help. A few days ago I start having problems when using spotify on my PS4. Musics start and stop once and again. I use it from my phone or my computer and i have no problem. What can i do?
