Hey there!

Thanks for posting this in the Community 🙂

You could try restarting the app first. If this doesn't help, reboot your console and see if that makes a difference.
For detailed steps on how to do this & more, you can check this link.

Let us know how it goes!
We'll be on the lookout for your response.

Cheers!

Hello, thank you for the help, but unfortunately I still have the same issue but it’s not the entirety of Spotify, for instance I can still play music but for some reason podcasts just don’t seem to work for some reason, thank you!

Hi @David253!

Could you try clearing your PS5's  cache to see if that would do the trick? Note that you'll need to readjust your settings afterwards. To clear the cache:

  • Power off your PS5, then unplug the power cord from both the console and the power outlet and wait around 30 sec.
  • Plug the cord back in and power on your PS5.

Another thing to try out is changing the default MTU value in your PS5's network settings to 1450 or 1473 to see if that would do the trick.

Hope this helps. Let us know how it goes.

I’ve tried all the things mentioned above but for some reason nothing works is there anything else I could possibly do?

Hey @David253

Thanks for your reply. No worries, we're here to keep helping.

Just to make sure, is this happening only with a specific podcast or with all of them?

Additionally, we'd like to know if you're getting any error messages when it comes to play a podcast. If so, could you send us a photo of it? You can attach it to your next response by using the Insert image option in the post editor. Make sure not to send any private info.

On another note, could you try to log out and then log back in two times in a row to check if that makes the difference? This will trigger a resynchronization between your account and the app, which might resolve possible issues related to cached data.

We'll be on the lookout.

This happens with all podcasts I try to listen to and I attempted to log out twice in a row and now when trying to open Spotify I get this error message

error

c895e98985a24bb0a54ac4ce44dff9e4

The issue of me not being able to use Spotify has fixed itself but it still won’t allow me to listen to any podcast, I rebuilt the database, cleared the cache, factory reset my PS5, and used everything recommended to what more is there that I can do to resolve this issue

Hi @David253!

If possible, try logging in to a friend's or a relative's account who uses Spotify on your PS5 to see if the error persists there. You can also try playing a podcast on your phone, then switching the playback to the PS5 with Spotify Connect.

Something else you can test is changing the default MTU value in your PS5's network settings to 1450 or 1473 to see if that would have any effect on your main account.

I signed into a different account on my PS5 and I was able to play podcasts just fine but for some reason on my account even after deleting it and signing back in still won’t allow me to play podcasts and I love also tried to change the MTU before and it has not worked what can I do?

Hey there @David253

Thanks for your reply.

Could you try starting the playback on another device and then use the Connect feature to see if it plays on the PS5?

We'll be on the lookout.

I’ve tried this and it does not work not matter how much I try

Hi there @David253,

Thank you for your reply and for tying out all of the troubleshooting so far!

If it's possible, can you have someone log in with their account on your device - such as a friend or a family member to see if the issue persists as this will help  us understand if it's account related or not?

Live, love, laugh and listen to music 🙂

I’ve been having the exact same issue; I can play everything normally on all other devices, but podcasts don’t work on my PlayStation. I tried all the other solutions mentioned, and I was able to get them to play using a family members account. Any help as to why it won’t work for my original account?

It seems to be an issue only with my account is there anything I can do, any help would be appreciated!

Hey folks,

Thanks for getting back to us.

It looks like the issue is isolated to your accounts. In this case, we'd recommend reaching out to our Customer Support through any of these channels, so they can take a closer look at your accounts and give you a hand with this.

Same issue here, I tried with another account and it worked just fine, however mine still doesn't work. I have already reached out with support through the chat and did pretty much everthing I can, deleted the app, clean re-install on both my phone (iOS) and on my windows PC, messed with configurations, restarted my PS5. Nothing worked, still can't play podcasts on my account on my PS5.

The only thing I haven't tried is changing to another account, which I will not do because I will lose my liked songs, my playlists, everything, besides, I am the premium family plan manager so that is out of the question.

I had the same issue. For me it worked to add the episodes to «your episodes» then play them from there. It’s apparently been an issue for a loong time, and it’s beyond me why they haven’t fixed it yet. Hope it works for you tho

this is happening to me. all my music works and so do my other podcasts except 1. this 1 podcast just isn’t working. it either plays with no audio or just switches to another podcast. i’ve logged out reinstalled did evrything mentioned above and nothing has worked
