Radio Variety

Radio Variety

I know it's no secret that Spotify's radio function is incredibly poor. Very little variety in artists, and little variety in those artist's songs. Essentially I'm just sick of seeing the same song twice within an interval of 8-12 or less songs. I know this has been posted about many other times, I'm just putting another straw on the camel's back.
But rather than just complain, what can I do to improve this? I find that my longer playlists tend to have more repetition, but my shorter ones are less accurate. Are there any playlist length/selection/variety range/ combinations that have worked better than others for any of you?

Seriously though Spotify get it together, I use the radio to find new music, not to skip songs all day.
From previous posts here on the community it appears the radio algorithm only looks at the first ~200 tracks on a playlist. Whether or not that is still true nobody knows.

I would rather use shuffle mode on very long playlists than the radio, although they do not include new artists of course (neither the radio stations do). But you can add new recommended stuff either from apps like Last.fm for Spotify or Lazify and move the generated playlists and/or recommended albums to the folder where you have your main long playlists. Then play the whole folder in shuffle mode, so known and unknown content will be mixed automatically.

I do this with my converted Last.fm listening history and hardly ever get repetition with that method although I listen to it all day. See the pinned thread about other related apps and tools combining Last.fm and Spotify in the Last.fm for Spotify support group for a brief description how to do this with the online tools Last.fm to csv and Ivy.

Please, someone get this sorted!

Radio on app, and really same over and over... Makes me wanna to Quit... Spotify...

Maybe someday it is time... as app is unusable and it plays the same on radio. Not to say about playlist suggesations called Party Music with no party music. I think Rihanna is a long way away from party music... These suggestions makes me mad and wonder about Quit.

I can easily set up my own streaming service with Google Play...

In Radio I want to listen whole repertoire on Spotify in techno music, not the same ones all day everyday!

Would LOVE to know whether or not Spotify has this on their radar? & what they are going to do to fix it. Add Variety (for radio) feature like Pandora would be nice.
