My Question or Issue

When I tap Recents, it won't load and it gives me an error: Something went wrong, Have another go? I uninstalled and reinstalled the app and the problem still persists.

Same problem for 2-3 days now. I use the history to find songs and artists I heard and liked while playing discovery playlists walking the dogs in the rain/storms where I cannot use DAP or Phone screen.

Additional bonus issues:

1) File type ".jpeg" not support, LOL.

2) reCAPTCHA implementation is timing out every 30 seconds forcing me to re-clickity. This is gawdawful & why I rarely post here.

Spotify-Recents-Will-Not-Load-Error-11-23-2024.jpg

Hey @EthanChai1 and @arianevans,

Thanks for posting this thread in the Community!

It's great that you've already uninstalled Spotify, but just to be on the safe side can you confirm if you've performed a clean reinstall? It's a bit more detailed and also includes clearing the cache which can cause different performance issues.

It's possible that this is an issue with loading the Recents section so it'd be great if you could also test with a different internet connection to see if it makes any difference.

Lastly, if it's possible try on another device and let us know how things look like.

Appreciate the cooperation and we'll be on the lookout 🙂

I've been experiencing this same issue for the past week in the iOS app.

I just see a 3 dots loading animation with a black background, but nothing ever loads.

i have had this issue or a similar one for months now, where at the beginning my Listening History section on my phone wasnt updating anymore, it stopped at the 31 october i think, but im not sure anymore, now since some weeks it isnt loading anymore at all, so that i see nothing, just an error message occurs, i contacted support and tried everything they suggested but nothing worked, now they said they: "alerted our developers to this issue and they're investigating the matter. Please be aware though that we’re not able to confirm if or when this specific request will be addressed. With that in mind, we recommend making sure that you always have the most recent version of the Spotify app, as we roll out fixes on those update packages and also so you're sure that you’re rocking all the latest updates." so i think it would be good if people that have this issue report it here, so it will be worked on and resolved.

Hey folks,

Thanks for all the info you've sent so far.

Just to confirm, are you still experiencing this? If so, make sure to send us the info @Vasil asked for previously so we can pass it on to the right team to keep investigating.

Keep us posted.

I just checked the "Recents" page in the iOS app today and now it's working for the first time since it stopped working in November after "Recents" replaced the old page.

However, there is no recent history. The last day shown is for Feb 21, 2025. Today is March 4.

  • huawei mate 20 hma-l29
  • android 10
  • version 9.0.24.601

Hey there, @lilpumpernickel,

Have you tried logging out and signing back in to your account twice in a row? This will trigger an internal resync of the app which may help here. It's also worth performing a clean reinstall of the app to get rid of any potential corrupted cache and ensure you're running the latest updates.

Let us know how it goes 👍

This is a follow up to my recent post

It looks like Recents updated again today. Hopefully will continue to work now.

Recently Played stopped loading about a week ago on Ipad 17.5, IPad 14.2, Galaxy Tab A SM-T350.

@Yordan i tried your suggestion of an internal resync, but the problem persists. i already tried a clean reinstall multiple times, that also didnt help unfortunately. i also always update spotify, but no update has fixed my issue yet.
