My Question or Issue

 

Hi, I've been working on a new playlist, which I've been building up partly with the recommended songs at the bottom. It's suddenly disappeared on this particular playlist, as well as most of my other playlists. The Enhance function doesn't work on these playlists, and neither does create similar playlists (both result in a 'something went wrong' error, create similar playlist just makes a blank playlist after I do this).

 

I've tried full clean reinstalls on both iOS and MacOS, cleared caches, logged in and out several times, tried different accounts and different browsers, still no luck. Spotify on Desktop and iOS are the latest versions as of writing this (Spotify for macOS (Intel)
1.1.73.517.gbef50fdb and 8.6.84.1353 respectively). Anything else I can try to narrow this down?

 

I'm aware that this issue has existed for some other users, but most posts I've seen so far have been marked as fixed, so I wanted to raise it as a new issue that's still ongoing (I know at least one other person who is having this issue as of today).

 

Appreciate any help you can offer!

Regarding the Recommended songs section missing, we see that you already commented on the dedicated Ongoing Issue thread here. The right teams are currently looking into it, but we can't commit to a timeframe for when this will be fixed. We'll make sure to post any updates on this matter on that thread.

 

On another note, could you try creating new playlists and copying the content of the affected ones to the new ones? Are the Enhance and Create similar playlist features working on those new playlists?

I get the same error message "something went wrong" that jacksbyrne was getting when trying to create similar playlists on a specific playlist of mine. I've tried creating similar playlists on other test playlists of mine, even one that is 14 hours long, all of these work, it's only the specific one I want to create a similar playlist on that doesn't. I took your advice and tried creating a new playlist with all the songs of the one I'm trying to use, and it still doesn't work. I have premium, and I have restarted spotify multiple times in an attempt to solve this issue.

Could you try on another device to see if anything changes?

Hi Ver, 

Just tried this on my laptop, no luck. Error message says: "unexpected error" in a red box at the bottom of the screen. No further details are provided to the user. 

 

Any idea what's going on here? This has never happened before on any of my other playlists.

Thank you for your reply and for the troubleshooting you've done so far!

 

If it's possible, can you try with a different internet connection to see if the issue persists?

On another note, are you using any VPN? If so, can you disable it and see if there's any difference?

We'll keep an eye out for your reply.

Thanks for getting back to me, Jeremy.

Although I still don't know what caused the issue in the first place, I was able to create a similar playlist with the desired songs after about a month of trying. Not sure what fixed it either, but I just wanted to reach out and thank the mods and to let those looking for an answer know that I guess the issue fixes itself after a little bit?

Further clarification on what exactly was happening here would be cool if you knew it, in case others have similar issues in the future.
