Spotify Connect Continuously Pausing With Bose SoundTouch 20

Spotify Connect Continuously Pausing With Bose SoundTouch 20

Hi all,

As the title suggests I'm having huge problems with my Bose SoundTouch system.

When I use Spotify Connect it will always pause 3-4 seconds after starting a track. I then press play and it goes back to the start of the track only to pause again.

It usually only lasts 3-4 seconds but sometimes makes it up to 15-20 seconds!

The Bose is connected by ethernet connection to a TP-LINK N600 W8980 router.

I can use Spotify Connect with no problems (on extreme quality) between 2 iPhones/an iPad/laptop. It is only when playing to the Bose that the pausing begins.

My Spotify account is Premium (as expected if I am using Connect).

Does anyone have any ideas or been suffering a similar problem with their hardware?

I would be very grateful for any suggestions (however obvious they may seem!!)

Cheers,

James

This is also happening to me. I have another router, NETGEAR. Also with Bose SoundTouch 20.

The difference is that it won't come back after pausing, it stays there.

i am having the same problem here. this is driving me insane and if the problem cant be sorted soon i am leaving spotify for sure

I have the same problem when I want to listen to Spotify on my bose speakers , it will pause immediately . This does not work at all.

How to do?

Thank you for your help

Hi Everyone,

Finally after months of trying to fix Spotify Connect on my Bose Soundtouch I found a solution.

(Bose support could not work out why Spotify Connect worked 100% fine on other devices but just not the Bose)

I live in the UK and was using the ISP called TalkTalk. I changed this to Plusnet and instantly the problem sorted itself!

So if you live in the UK then change your ISP to Plusnet. And if you live elsewhere I would recommend just changing your ISP and seeing if that makes a difference...!

Cheers,

James

New software update today for SoundTouch! Now Spotify is fully integrated into the Bose app, and you easily set Spotify music (not just playlists, but stations, artists, etc) as a preset, and the preset name shows the name of the content and not just "SPOTIFY". Works much better, and you have access to most Spotify features and your music right in the Bose app, no need to switch apps back and forth anymore! Watch for the update prompt, you have to log back into your Spotify account, but it's a much better Spotify experience with the Bose systems now! Happy...
