Spotify Connect not working for Free Tier

My Question or Issue

Spotify Connect no longer works after I downgraded account to Free Tier.

Having seen the announcement that Spotify Connect was available for Free Tier subscription (Link), I did not renew my Premium subscription.

However, it shows on my PC/Android phone that Spotify Connect is Premium only (refer to attached screenshot).

My HiFi is supported on Spotify Gear and it was working on Premium, so it should not be the problem.

Am I missing any steps?

While Spotify Connect is now available for users on the Free ad-based service, some Spotify Connect devices, such as your Yamaha R-N303 HiFi Receiver, still require Spotify Premium.

You can check out this list of devices that currently work with the Free ad-based service. Hopefully more devices will be added to the list in the future!
