Spotify Live Disaster

I got an email last week that Anna of the North is doing a live Q&A thing today. Cool! But I'd forgotten about it until Spotify sent me a reminder email a half-hour before it started. Thanks again! However, to participate:

 

- This is only available through the app (not via the Windows app or website).

 

- "The app" in this case is Spotify Live, which is a separate app for some stupid reason. So now I've gotta download another app! Awesome! I love having apps for every restaurant, music venue and parking lot I use, so I'm glad Spotify is getting in on the fun!

 

- Instead of a banner or note on the Spotify Live login page saying something like "if you're already a Spotify user, you'll have to create a new Spotify Live-specific account"... you're just supposed to... guess? Know this already, somehow? Because it's SO MUCH MORE FUN to have separate accounts for Spotify, Spotify Live and the Spotify Community!

 

- Oh, and your real name and a photo are required.

 

- But if you need help, just go to the reminder email they sent and tap the "get help" link! Oh wait, when you do that, the Gmail app for Android parses the address incorrectly,**bleep** isn't a valid email address.

 

What a disaster! If I have to jump though 10 hoops to see something I could see for free (with 3 clicks) on YouTube, guess which one I'm doing?

 

So... thanks for nothing, Spotify.
