My Question or Issue

I just bought Spotify premium a few hours ago and I noticed that Spotify has been using heaps of data for the past few hours and that it continues to do so, I have not downloaded anything in the Desktop app so far! I have attached a few screenshots of the data usage below. if you guys have any more questions feel free to ask em!

Thanks for the post and the screenshots.

 

The Desktop app is designed to be used primarily on machines connected to a home or public network with unlimited data.

 

You can try lowering the Audio Quality through the app settings, and check if that fixes the issues.

Thanks for the reply and yes I am aware of that, but don't you think this is a bit unusual for the app to have such a huge amount of data usage especially when I didn't download nor stream anything?

This is indeed an unusual behavior. In this case the app might be caching music in the background in order to unable seamless playback.
