My Question or Issue

Over the last few days, I have been unable to launch Spotify on my Roku Premiere. I click on the app icon on the Roku home screen, and it just sits on the Spotify logo screen indefinitely until I hit the home button to go back.

I've been using the Roku app for several months now to have music playing in the house (while controlling it from my PC browser as I work) and it's been working quite well so far. It stopped working just this past week (starting Monday 10/26). I am unable to launch the app from the "Connect to a device" button in the web app (the device does not appear) and I am also unable to launch from Roku directly.

As far as I can tell there have been no updates to either the Roku system software (last update in August) nor the Spotify app (last update in Dec 2019) within the last week, so it doesn't seem to be a software incompatibility. Any ideas?

Update 10/30/2020:
After posting this I attempted a forced-update of my Roku and discovered that a system update had apparently dropped a few days earlier. I updated the Roku's system software and attempted to launch the app again. This time it actually got past the splash screen, and I was able to log in again. Not sure if it was the system update or just power-cycling the Roku (It had roughly 3 weeks of continuous uptime before I restarted it) that got it to work again.

Hopefully my story helps other folks experiencing similar behavior!
