Spotify connect sometimes stops after one song rather than continuing

Spotify connect sometimes stops after one song rather than continuing

Spotify connect on a Yamaha AV amp. Usually works fine but sometimes when I link and hit play it only plays one song. I then have to hit skip and it plays the next. then stops again. Sometime I think, after a few, it stops misbehaving.

Is there a setting, a bug, something I'm doing wrong?

Hi there @B33K34,

Thanks for reaching out!

Just to confirm, there are songs in the queue, right? Have you noticed this with a specific playlist or with all playlists/content in general? If you have Smart Shuffle toggled on, could you try disabling it to see if that helps?

It's worth checking if connecting to another Wi-Fi network does the trick: you can even create a mobile hotspot and connect the receiver to it. Something else that comes to mind is switching the network frequency to 2.4 GHz / 5 GHz, or changing your DNS settings. Also, make sure you're running the latest software and firmware updates.

This other thread has some additional troubleshooting you can try, feel free to check it out as well.

Cheers 🤘

Ah - that's maybe it.  (using an iPhone as the control)

If you click on the first song in a playlist or album, or click on the Play button on an album, on the phone or desktop it plays that song and then continues to play from that playlist/album. BUT they are NOT added to the queue.

Perhaps the behaviour on Spotify Connect is 'play one song/first song' only which is different to playing through the phone itself.  Which feels like a bug.

Update - no.  Just tested with empty queue and it's carried on playing the album.

Worst sort of bug - difficult to recreate.  will monitor.
