Spotify issue with Yamaha RX-681 - Music is stopped after few minutes

Spotify issue with Yamaha RX-681 - Music is stopped after few minutes

Spotify Premium / France

Device

Yamaha RX-681 receiver connected through Ethernet, Spotify App on the same network

From Android App

Hello,

Since fews days, I can't listen Spotify smoothly: Lag after few minutes - Yamaha receiver is connected with Ethernet, Internet radio works without any issue but with Spotify I can't listen playlist without issue (it's like the song is in pause but it's not a pause because in the mobile app the time continue and pause icon is not displayed but no sound ! If I go to the next track it's work again but after 2 ou 3 minutes, same issue.

Spotify was working nice since years, I do not change something on my network, I have removed and reinstalled Spotify App.

I have no issue with Spotify App on my smartphone, the issue is only through the Yamaha receiver.

Thank you to help me to find a solution for this issue

Cheers,

Hi @Guilz,

Welcome to the Community and thank you for posting.

We'd like to know what type of connection you are using your Spotify with.

Do you use the Connect feature to control the music with your phone, or does your receiver have a built in Spotify app that allows you to access directly?

Keep us posted.

Hello MafeG,

I use the connect feature of the Spotify App - The RX-681 is well detected (same network) and available to use Spotify with.

Cheers,

Guilz

Hi @Guilz,

Thank you for your reply.

Just to confirm, have you tried to use Connect via the Yamaha MusicCast app? If so, please remove your receiver from the MusicApp and add it again:

  • Go to the Settings menu
  • Select "Add New Device"
  • Follow the remaining steps to set up

Also, it's good making sure your receiver doesn't have any pending firmware updates.

Let us know how this goes.

Hello MafeG,

No, I don't use Connect via Yamaha MusicCast but through Spotify App.
My RX-681 is up to date regarding the firmware

Hi @Guilz,

Thank you for keeping us in the loop.

Could you access your Spotify account from a different device to test if the Connect feature works properly with your receiver?

If the issue persists, can you log in with another account, such as a friend's or a family member's to see if there's a change? Alternatively, you can create a free account here, just make sure you're logged out of your own account before creating a new one.

We'll be on the lookout.
