Spotify on LG WebOS TV not working correctly with bluetooth keyboard

My Question or Issue

Using the TV remote to type (such as in the Spotify search box) is slow and tedious. I would like to use a keyboard. I have a bluetooth keyboard that works with the TV. And it almost works with the Spotify app running on the TV. I can move the cursor, click, and type.

The problem is that when typing in the search box (and maybe other places), the field keeps losing focus. So I will type a few characters, and suddenly cannot type anymore. It seems to lose focus whenever the Spotify app starts to return results. If I click in the field again, I can type maybe 1-3 more characters, then it loses focus again. I have to click again, type maybe a few more characters, over and over. This is super frustrating. Besides that, the app keeps trying to bring up the on-screen keyboard, which is unnecessary. That may be contributing to the loss of focus as well.
