Spotify's IFTTT applet (Spotify-made) to archive Discover Weekly songs, keeps failing due to a usage limit. I'm able to reset the applet by removing it and adding it again, then it fails again in a week or two. This only started within a couple months. Before I was able to use it without problem for over 2 years.
I actually lost 5 songs due to this from last week's Discover. I can't find them anywhere, and I have no idea how to get them back. I thought I was going insane thinking that it should be there but then I saw that only 25 songs were archived. The songs and titles were in a different language so it's practically impossible for me to search for them. And I've listened to plenty more songs to push it out of the history list.
Please give us some method to retrieve previous Discovery Weeklys. Whether that be fixing the IFTTT applet, extending the history list, or something.
Thanks for reaching out about this here in the Community.
If you'd like to present your feedback as an Idea for Spotify, make sure to follow these steps:
As a heads-up, it's good to know that the higher the number of votes an Idea gets, the more likely it is for the Idea to be implemented. If you wish to learn more about how your feedback will reach Spotify, feel free to take a look at this article.
Hope you'll find this info useful. Have a nice day!
Having the same issue, been working fine since 2016. Has anybody submitted to the Spotify Radar?
@Mario, this is a bug in Spotify Implementation under the IFTTT service. How can we get this looked up by the Spotify team?
I've had this same issue for a month or so - nothing being added to the list, applet failing 'usage limit exceeded' - and found what I think is a workaround. I renamed the active target playlist 'Discover Weekly Archive' to something else (Discover Weekly Archive-$date), and since then, for last two weeks, the applet has run successfully, without only one or two intermittent failures, and all of the tracks successfully added to the list.
I suspect that the applet is failing when the target playlist gets to some size - number of tracks, size of the metadata, etc. - and then just bombs. For ref, my playlist pre-rename has 2,105 tracks
@mario any word on this. It's CRITICAL for me. Why is it showing "Usage limit exceeded" now all of the sudden after years of working fine.
