Spotify skips 4 tracks and play stops after nine seconds

My Question or Issue

When I press play on track, it skips 4 songs starts playing and stops after 9 seconds.  Seem to be aproblem that's been around for many years, this problem only cropped up for me today.  I'm running as chrome book - tried numerous suggetsed fixing - but no further forward.  All fine when I try my I phone.  Does anybody have a solution that works for chromium and spotify web player?

I fixed it - phew!  Simply updated chromium and all is now well.

There seemed to be a few old posts on this subject, but I couldnt find any suggeted fixes that worked for me.
