Spotify will not play on Facebook Portal

Spotify will not play on Facebook Portal

Plan: Premium

Country: USA

Device: Facebook Portal

Operating System: Up to date

 

My Question or Issue: We were humming along nicely with Spotify playing on our Portal daily, then all of a sudden we cannot play if from that device. We can control it from our phones, but not directly with the Portal interface. You can see albums and playlists, but when you click on them it says 'something went wrong'. We've tried hard restarting Portal, deleting and reinstalling Spotify on it, logging out and in and nothing changes.  Any other ideas?

As a first step, can you please try logging in with a different account and connecting the device to a different network like a hotspot on your phone?

The same thing has been happening on my Facebook portal for the past month or so. I actually reset the entire portal back to Factory settings and it still does not work. The search function is also gone on Spotify so there is no box to type in an artist to search for it. Looking for to a solution.

Have the same problem on a Portal Plus, which is a real bummer since it has a great speaker.

Same issue with me as well. Its just unusable on portal, had been working great earlier.

Having the same issues so portal is getting rid of Spotify?

Hi! I tried everything. Another account, another network, reset fabric data, disconnect portal, download it again, and nothing can make it work again. What's going on? With Meta and Spotify? 

Seems I can't play any music unless I just use my portal device as a Bluetooth speaker!! What good is that?
