My Question or Issue
- When in the "Control center" menu of the Playstation 5 (and PS4), and choosing the "Music" tab, then choosing the preferred playlist (it's not my personal playlist, but it happens every time on this specific playlist, in this case: "Melodic Top DnB": https://open.spotify.com/playlist/7m4SfOEc5Arcw0ERdvvww8?si=4G692egvQyGry090vs0cNw ) and then choosing any song (besides the first) then the Spotify App plays the track from 2 places behind the chosen track.
- And if it's the second track on the playlist (and generally some of the first tracks on the playlist) on the list from the top, it then plays the music from the first track on the list, but shows the track ID from the second track on the list as well as the album cover art, but then showing the track time line info from the first track/song on the playlist.
Spotify on Android has done this as well, but seems to be fixed now.
I have tried the following:
- Closing the Spotify app in the control menu switcher
- Turn off the Playstation,
- Uninstall, and reinstall the Spotify App.
But it didn't work.
And I have also tried the following:
- Uninstall (delete) the Spotify App
- Restart Playstation
- Install Spotify App again
But that didn't work either
It's really annoying, but it's been like this for years, but I haven't done anything about it, until now.
I suspect it has something to do with "Unplayable Tracks/songs" or "Hidden Tracks/songs".
Because on the Android app where I have "Show songs that can't be played" enabled, I can see that there are multiple tracks that are "Unplayable Tracks/songs". So if the Spotify Playstation app tries to play tracks that are "Unplayable Tracks/songs", then it might get confused of the playlist ranking of the numbers and it then plays "Track #27" instead of "Track #29" because of the "Hidden Tracks/songs" messing up the order.
But really, I don't know, just a thought.
Anyways, I hope you can send this onward to the right people like the software engineers and so forth.
I couldn't attach the video evidence, so I uploaded it to my Google Drive:
