My Question or Issue

Hello,

I am kinda frustrated by now.
I normaly use the daily drive Playlist for literally daily driving to work.

But since November the 13th 2020 one episode of the financial podcast "Handelsblatt today" (meaning something like "financial paper today") getting into my playlist now and then.

It's like a friggin' meme.

This podcast keeps starting with "Hello we have november friday the 13th and this are the financial topics".

I have listend to this podcast. I don't now why this episode keeps stalking my playlist and I don't have the option to get rid of it.

So here is my question:
How do I get rid of this episode? What can I do?
It is nearly a year since this episode is around and it keeps comming up again and again and again and again and again.

Please help.

Hi there @VenterraZero,

Thank you for reaching out to the Community and for your feedback.

This is not possible at the moment and we understand that things can feel frustrating when things don't work as you'd like them to. Rest assured that we're always trying to improve as we always strive to improve our features.

However there's an idea - [Mobile] Option to customize Your Daily Drive. We suggest that you head over to the idea and leave a +VOTE and Subscribe to it for any updates regarding this.

We hope for your understanding and that you continue using Spotify and find it gets better in the future.

Once again - thanks for the feedback, we appreciate it. Let us know if we can help you with anything else.

Take care!

Oh ok,

I know that idea already and voted for it some months or so ago.

But I thought that this Podcast episode that keeps showing up every now and then might be a bug.

I had not considered that the option to customize the daily drive might be the only solution.

So there is no possibility to get rid of this annoying podcast. Thats very unpleasend.
But at least now I have the Information that this haunting episode keeps being around.

Thanks for the answer.

I have the exact same issue - The same BuzzFeed Daily Episode from December 2021 keeps playing as the 3rd podcast in my Daily Drive EVERY day. Drives me absolutely bonkers.

Very sad Spotify is not investing further in this functionality. At one point you could manage what podcasts played in Daily Drive and then they took it away. Why? To make more money with paid deals with podcasts?

I have the same problem, I get the August 19th episode of The Best One Yet in my daily drive almost ever day. https://open.spotify.com/episode/4lwigbFA3Hxz6uFodBCKN1?si=e45e4e5a53c542f6.

I don't think the accepted answer is the only solution however. This definitely seems like a bug, not a feature request. That linked feature request would potentially solve this, but it is certainly not the only way to fix the problem nor a requirement to solve this independently.

Based on how daily drive works it seems to pick songs/genre's you've listened to frequently. There is no reason that a podcast episodes should be included in that selection as no reasonable person would want to listen to the same episode every single day, unlike a song where repetition makes sense.

Been emailing and voting and have been running to my phone to turn off the final episode of Buzzfeed's December 31st pop culture quiz (a podcast I never listen to anyways!)... You know for about 9 months.

I find it incredibly frustrating because one of my favorite beta features when this new mix was released was that I could choose podcasts, add or remove (AKA customize content) and hide songs (so they don't play aaaalllll the time)

Depending on the device you are on - you are still able to hide songs so they eventually are forced to be replaced by algorithm - however there seems to be a profit for Spotify for them to remove this function that then lets it's clients deal with bugs (maybe so they can continue their podcast contracts and get money from all avenues, so long as the paying clients are still willing to pay for the bugs). I feel like a **bleep**in conspiracy theorist. I don't want to hear gossipy pop culture trash from the new years anymore, I want to enjoy this platform that has been record breaking as far as personal customization and varietal algorithms - but I'm afraid they may not be that anymore...

"""Marked as solution""" BTW, just some guy saying "sorry your Playlist that you pay us to manage is broken, go here and vote to maybe get it fixed. **bleep** offfff dude
