Yes me too.
None of those options worked for me, I tried working from VPN on working with VPN off working from Office still having issue loading open.spotify.com with 429 Too many requests, yes I use a Managed work laptop open ticket with our IT team and they confirm there was no issue around request getting out of our network for spotify.com domain after looking at the logs.
some colleague though they are able to access open.spotify.com without any issue even if they are also working on managed laptops and using same VPN as we do.
from my own laptop yes, it's working.
429 Too many requests' errors have nothing to do with our internal setup those errors are mainly triggered by the rate-limit defined in Spotify gateway to prevent resources exhaustions and prevent DoS attack,
Wish push me to believe that those errors are not caused by our own network but a rate-limit that been setup in Spotify because the reason why some from our work are able to access the web player instead of others is because of their outbound IP address.

It works on my non-work PC
Hey folks,
Thanks for the replies.
While we are aware of some issues like this on non-work networks, when it comes to work environments we cannot guarantee functionality, as that is strongly dependent on the local setup, restrictions, filters, etc. We have seen on some occasions that flushing DNS settings seems to help, so you're welcome to try that.
In the meantime, we will continue to monitor this and let you know when we have news on the topic. Be advised however that we cannot say for certain at the moment when or if this is going to get addressed for work networks.
Cheers!
Hello Eni,
I had already mentioned it happening from a different browser in the previous message. Anyhow I tried both - Firefox and Chrome- again and in incognito mode and here are the results. Also mine is a non work network.
Really hoping this is resolved asap.
Hi Joan,
the 429 Too Many requests cannot be generated from within the work restriction and policies or DNS, it mainly coming from the source and should be addressed within Spotify,
you are probably behind one of those distributed caching platforms like AKAMAI which basically do have basic WAF (web application firewall) rules to prevent from any DDOS attacks by preventing access from suspected IP address hance the reason why only happens from work because all the outbound traffic goes out from within same Shared IP address range. That try to access Spotify service.
do we have any type of technical support that we can reach out too?
Thanks
I've used web player at work for at least the last 12 months non stop and have never had a problem before until 2 weeks ago when the 429 error came up for the first time.
My educated guess is Spotify is pushing the duo plan so those of us who control the playlist from our phones while broadcasting to the web player are just going to be out of luck?
There's no other reason why it would have just stopped working out of no where after 12 months of consistent usage with nothing changing in my environment. Somethings changed on spotifys end.
I see you are all having the same problem as i am i asked someone from spotify to help me and they sent me a link to reset my password and it worked
Please visit this link https://accounts.spotify.com/en/password-reset so you will able to reset your password and log in!
I too started having this problem around a week or so ago.
I am getting error
429 Too Many Requests
when trying to access the Spotify webplayer over my university network.
I have been using the webplayer for years.
The webplayer is still accessible over a cellular network.
I am waiting for it to be resolved but my patience is running thin.
Using YouTube Music in the meantime.
I think this is mostly a non-answer respectfully. Yes, a secure network can cause many issues for Spotify just like any other site but this is clearly an issue with Spotify's infrastructure and how it has decided to apply rate limiting to its service. Changing my external IP makes this error go away.
I am not sure how many requests an individual Spotify Client/Web can produce, nor do I know the amount of load an individual Client/Web puts on Spotify as a whole. However, based on the size of my org assuming that we multiplied the avg number of requests per user and how many people work in my org I would be very concerned about an organization that serves millions of users being concerned about that level of resource usage even on a single IP. We're talking less than 500 a day. You can't possibly tell me you're worried about 500 requests over 24 hours causing issues to your platform so it must be about saving on costs. I think customers deserve to know what kinds of things Spotify is investing in. How many servers can Joe Rogan's contract buy?
In any case, I wouldn't expect you to fix it just because a few users complained. Someone made this decision for a reason but transparency is always important. When was this change made, and why? Are the teams that own this change aware of the impact to customers?
Same issue! Just tried to reset my password per a recent suggestion in this thread and that did not work either. Definitely not worth having premium if you can't use it!
just started to have the same issue , lets hope it fixes itself, used it for the last years here without any problems ... except when it was banned. *crosses fingers*
help!! I've been having the same issue for almost 3 weeks.
This is still happening, though it worked briefly yesterday. Today is back to 429 error message.
My company did indeed make a change. They changed some DNS rules as a way to block so many ads from hitting the company network. Once they undid their DNS changes the webplayer did start working again. I have spotify family premium so I shouldn't be getting ads. I don't know the details of the changes they made/undid.
So if you are having this problem at work talk to your IT department about recent changes they made regarding DNS.
Same problem here since yesterday
Hey, I'm still experiencing this issue. I've tried different browsers (firefox, chrome) and incognito and the issue keeps happening. The Account overview page is accessible
