Under settings-->social, What does 'share my listening activity on Spotify' actually do?

Solved!

Under settings-->social, What does 'share my listening activity on Spotify' actually do?

On the desktop app under settings-->social, What does 'share my listening activity on Spotify' actually do?, i.e. if it is toggled off does this mean none of my followers can see what I'm listening to in the 'Friends activity' right hand side bar. I dont see the point of it as isn't this essentially the same as turning 'Private Session' on? Thanks!

That's correct. When you turn off "share listening activity" then your followers can no longer see what you are listening to live in the desktop app "Friend Feed" sidebar.

The difference with the "Private Listening" option is that this option is temporary and actually does more. Let's say there's something you are listening to for a short period of time but you want to hide it from friends or you don't want Spotify to use it for stats such as your Spotify Wrapped at the end of the year or use it to recommend you similar music, then this is the option you would use.
