Why is playback stuttering in the web player?

Music playback using the web player is stuttering, intermittently every 5-10 seconds for perhaps half a second, maybe shorter - enough to completely throw of any rhythm and be super annoying.

I have this issue across multiple browsers and machines. My work machine runs Ubuntu 20.04.1, where I usually use Firefox 132.0 but also tried Chrome 131.0.6778.69. My private machine runs Windows 11, Ubuntu 20.04 and 24.04, where I run various browsers (Firefox, Chrome, Librewolf, ...). Other sound sources work fine on both devices, so I don't think it's a hardware issue.

I have also tried the desktop app on my work machine, but there the issue was even worse.

How can I fix this?

One suggestion would be to try resetting the router to see if that makes any difference to the connection. It may also be helpful to try a different Wi-Fi network if you have another available.

Also, since you mentioned using a Windows machine, could you check if the problem also occurs in the Desktop application or if it is exclusive to the Web Player? This can help you better understand the origin of the issue.
