That being said, just to confirm, have you tried some troubleshooting to see if this behavior changes? If you haven't yet, we recommend you to start off with a clean reinstall of the Spotify app on your device. By doing that, the app can be up-to-date, and you can make sure the cache is not leading to this inconvenience. You can see the steps for a clean reinstall here.
 

If the above doesn't do the trick, then we'd like to gather some additional info to better understand what exactly is happening. Please send us:

• The make/model and OS of the affected device.
• The exact Spotify version you're running there.
• Does this happen over WiFi? 3G/4G? Both? Do you notice any difference if you switch the internet connection you're using? 
• We'd like to know if it's always behaved like that or if this behavior started after a specific event/update.
