The setting to receive new release notifications from Spotify by push and email have been in the settings for years but they have never worked. They don't work for me and I have seen other posts from other users with the same problem.

 

Some good news is that today Spotify announced a new "Whats New feed" for the mobile app. With this new feed you will be able to see new releases.

The new "What's New" feed is rolling out to all users globally in the iOS and Android mobile apps over the coming weeks.

Can you check that you've not marked any emails from Spotify as Spam or Junk?

Thanks for the reply.

 

Could you check your phone's app settings, if Push notifications is enabled for the Spotify app in general. This could be stopping notifications on some devices.

 

Regarding the emails - doublecheck which email is attached to your account. It might also be worth trying to switch on all notifications from Spotify from the website, to check if you're getting email notifications at all, and not just new release notifications. There is a chance that you might have clicked the unsubscribe button from Spotify email newsletters in the past.
