ps4 spotify start

Solved!

ps4 spotify start

Hi

I'm spotify user and want to use it on an updated ps4.

Unfortunately the "installed" app (not sure if its installed at all) tells me to be logged in to another console und asks me for credit card infos. My psn and spotify accounts are linked in ps4 account settings.

I did the acc linking about 4 times, yes. Last time with reboot.

In ps store and home-menu the app is available, but not installable or removable. Only button there is "app: load" that only leads to login via credit card 😞 So I don't know whether its installed or just "suggested".

Shown version in head of app info is of date 30th may 2015. Strange...

I found another thread with this problem just without a solution 😞

Please help.

It is connected to another console. I have ps3 and ps4 and don't see a problem there.

Finally my problem is solved and I can load and use spotify app.

Thanks to (sounded like) unmotivated telephone helper who as well didn't understand my problem.

Problem was (and is) my active and valid creditcard that sony seems not to acept. I deleted the (only) linked card from my sony ps account via browser. Then restarted spotify and it downloads, installs, starts. O.o

Thanks to sony for potential creditcard-bug and wrong error message.

Hi @kasper2083,

Welcome to the Community! We're happy to shed some light on the situation

The official Spotify app on PlayStation should allow you to log in only with your account details, the payment information is never required to access.

Could you send us a recording of what's happening on your PS4? Just attach the video to your next response to us by using the Insert Video option in the post editor. This way we can take a closer look at the issue.

Keep us posted. We'll keep an eye out for your reply.

Hey there @kasper2083

Thanks for sending us this info.

In this case, we suggest that you check this video which explains how to delete apps in order to free up memory in the console.

After that, would you mind checking if Spotify shows up in the list of installed apps? If so, we'd suggest that you try deleting it and then trying to download it again from the Play Store.

In case the issue still persists after these steps, could you send over the firmware version of your PlayStation?

We'll be on the lookout for your reply.

Thank you for reply

I will try to delete on that way.
But... my storage is not full. That might not be my problem.
Delete via home-screen-options is not possible. There is no such button as described.

Spotify does not appear in options->applications.

Hi @kasper2083,

Thank you for keeping us in the loop.

By any chance, do you use an external storage drive with your PS4? If you do, please remove it and try to install it again.

Also, please let us know the firmware version of your PlayStation.

Until then!

Sorting of this forum seems weird 😕
No, it doesn't use an external drive, just the one "build-in". More than 200GB free.
Nothing plugged in (except the controller of course).

I can write firmware version later. System has internet connection and doesn't want an upgrade. Last upgrade was about 30 days ago. So might be latest firmware.

Hey there @kasper2083,

Thanks for the reply.

Could you try to unlink your Spotify account from your PSN account? Customers can self serve this option on Sony’s website with this link.

You might be getting this error message, because your Spotify account is still active on another Playstation.

Let us know how it goes.

Yes
Did unlink it via options->other services->spotify many times, as described in first post on top of this title.
Restarted ps4 after unlinking on last 2 unlink-actions.
Also in spotify website, it only knows my smartphone right now (and again ps4 by linking it last time (without success)).

Firmware is 8.50.
Why is it important to be logged in to another console? Its more or less platform unlimited.

Hi @kasper2083,

Thank you for your swift reply and sorry for the confusion.

So far, it seems like the PSN will need you to confirm your payment details in order to download the app. Please keep in mind that the payment information will be taken by PSN and not by Spotify.

Please give it a try in order to install the app properly, and let us know if it allows you to sign in.

If you have any question about the information you need to input, we suggest you contact the folks from PlayStation support through this link.

Hope this helps!

I inserted credit card info and pushed yes button (wrong name, sry). Next message came and told me in title "Verification not possible" and message ""Pls check your input...".

Hi @kasper2083,

Thank you for getting back to us.

Since these messages are coming directly from the PSN store, we suggest you contact the PlayStation support team through this link.

Let us know if you have any other questions about Spotify.

Take care!

I contacted sony support via email and did not arrive behind 1st lvl support. Only got 2 standard answers like "did you try to turn it off and on again". No help so far 😞

Spotify support seems more motivated and answered few hours later on same question. The email answer told me to test few things but unfortunately either the website doesn't have mentioned link or I missed it on every try. Test would be to find playstation download link in sony website to manage and maybe retry downloads.

I found something else besides spotify. I tried to download another app (red bull) and there on button "load" the same credit card screen appeared O.o -> Doesn't seem to come from spotify... Error message says "ey you are on another console. Login with credit card again" (The same as before)

Any ideas?

Hey @kasper2083,

Thanks for the post.

Sorry to hear that the support team couldn't help.

In this case we'd recommend contacting the Sony support team again and explaining that your account might be logged in another PS, check if they can log you out from their side.

Another thing you can try is connecting to another network and see if you get the same error messages.

Keep us posted on how you get on.
