i've been having an issue where whenever i have songs queued but i click on a new song, it will play the queued song instead of the song i just pressed on. it also happens when i press play on a playlist. it never used to do this before so i'm wondering if it's a bug and if anyone else has had this issue?

My Question or Issue
If you have songs queued, then press the play button on a different song, that song won't be played - it will instead go to the next song from the queue. The song actually selected gets added to the front of the queue so that it's played next.
This seems to happen most when selecting a song that is not downloaded/in a playlist.
This is also happening to me and updating the app + updating my iPhone didn’t help. Please can this be fixed? It’s really ruining the experience of the app
im having the same problem, its super frusterating
Every time I have songs queued on the mobile app and I click on a new song (to jump the queue), it just plays the next song in the queue not the actual song I clicked on. Using an iphone 12.
Hey folks!
We made some changes backstage and this should now be fixed!
Update you app to the latest version and let us know in case it persists 🙂
We're monitoring the thread.
Cheers!
i'm no longer having this issue, thanks!
I’m still having this issue. It seems to have started with the new IOS. I didnt have this problem prior to a couple months ago. Please fix this. There are more problems in Spotify with this IOS too. Like playback is all **bleep** up. Stopped working correctly. It works ok if I’m playing it on my ipad, but if I’m playing it back on my external speaker, its all screwy.
It’s still not working
Hello, not sure if there have been new updates but this is happening to me. I am trying to play a song from my library and it keeps playing songs I have in my que, messing up the order I want to play the songs
Hey, I'm having this exact same problem right now. It was fixed for a hot second after the new queue system was introduced, but then it stopped working again. Whenever I have songs queued up, and I press a new song, it automatically skips the one that I select and moves on to the next song in the queue. This is really annoying, so I would love a permanent fix.
Hi folks,
Thanks for reaching out!
Have you tried out any of the suggestion in the thread? If not, I'd recommend starting off with a clean reinstall of the app just to make sure you're running the latest version and to remove any damaged cache. It'd also be great if you can test this out on a different device, as well as ask a friend or relative to log in their account on your device to check if they experience the same issue. This way we can determine if this is device- or account-related.
It'd also be really helpful if you can make a screen recording, so that we can have a closer look at what's happening, because we weren't able to replicate this on our end. If the file is too large to attach, you can upload it to Google Drive (make sure to allow general access to the file) or as an unlisted YouTube video.
Keep us posted.
This still occurs frequently on android.
Screen recording bigger than 5mb
Hey there @slurpwaffle,
Thanks for joining the conversation.
Can you confirm if you've already followed @Dessi's suggestions above? If so, let us know the result you got.
Also, make sure to send all the make, model, OS version and the Spotify version you're currently running. Remember you can upload the video to other platforms if it's too big to be uploaded to the Community.
Keep us posted.
