video podcasts on the Xbox app

My Question or Issue

Any podcast episode with a video attached will be skipped and cannot be played even when you aren't Fullscreen on the video portion.

Could you try reinstalling the app? Did this bring any change?

Does a different account on your Xbox behave the same?

What's the app version you're using?

everytime i play a podcast that has a video it keeps changing to the next episode until it’s gone through every podcast on there. it doesn’t let me watch any of it, it just changes to the next episode instantly.

i’ve reinstalled spotify, i’ve tried different xbox accounts, i’ve tried playing it through my phone first and then connecting it to my xbox, i’ve tried playing it off my xbox first and nothing is working.

please help

Thanks for the reply.

Can you try using another Spotify account? You can create a free account for test purposes for this. This way you can check if the issue is related to your main account by any chance. 

We haven't received other reports about video podcasts skipping on Xbox recently, so it's possible that's an account related thing.

I've been having this same issue recently. Music and non-video podcasts work fine but any podcast with a video gets skipped. I'm using the app on Xbox Series X.
