why does Spotify keep switching me back to the Spotify app when an ad plays

Whenever I play a song on the app, I do my work on a different tab like google. Then whenever an ad comes on it automatically switches me back to the app. How do I fix this?

Does this happen across all devices you use? Were you using the desktop app or the Web Player when the ad served? If you're using the Web Player, it's worth opening it in an incognito window and also testing this out with a different browser. 

It'd be great if you can share more details regarding the device you use, so that we can have a closer look - can you send us the make and model, as well as the Spotify version you're currently running (if you're using the mobile or desktop app)? You can find the steps here.
