Can't convert from Family Premium to Student plan

Can't convert from Family Premium to Student plan

I am a registered student and wanted to convert to Student plan.
I am verified by Spotify that I am a student.
I am getting an error message that I am not eligible. I used an incognito browser as well.

Hi there, If you are receiving an error message when trying to switch to the Spotify Student plan, even though you have been verified as a student, there are a few things you can try:

  1. Make sure you are logged into the correct Spotify account. It's possible that you may have multiple accounts, and you are logged into the wrong one.

  2. Double-check that your student verification is still valid. Spotify's student verification process is valid for 12 months, after which you will need to re-verify your student status. If your verification has expired, you will not be able to switch to the Student plan.

  3. Clear your browser cache and cookies. Sometimes, browser cache and cookies can cause issues with websites and prevent you from accessing certain features.

  4. Try using a different web browser or device. There may be compatibility issues with the web browser you are using or the device you are using.

  5. Contact Spotify's customer support team. If none of the above solutions work, you can contact Spotify's customer support team for assistance. They may be able to help you troubleshoot the issue or manually switch your account to the Student plan.

Keep in mind that the Student plan is only available to students enrolled in a university or college, and is not available to high school students. If you are still having trouble, you can contact your university's or college's support team for assistance in verifying your student status.

Thanks for letting me know 🙂

 

In this case, you'll first need to cancel your existing Premium Family subscription and wait until your account reverts back to the Free plan. 

 

Once you're back on the Free plan, you should be able to subscribe to Premium Student at https://spotify.com/student.

 

Also, keep in mind that all members oft your Premium Family plan will also revert back to the Free plan when the subscription ends.
