Can’t login to Spotify kids

Can’t login to Spotify kids

Family plan member for many years.

Can't log in with my credentials to spotify kids via the app on ipad (latest rev).  This was a clean install.  The install on my son's other ipad is fine and working.  I thought maybe because it was in use that I couldn't login with 2nd ipad but that's silly.  What if I have two kids?

So one ipad working, the one I just updated to latest OS and reinstalled Spotify Kids refuses to log me in.

Open to suggestions for this combo.

Thanks

Hey @Shatter,

Thanks for reaching out!

Can you let us know if you're trying to log in with a combination of email address and password or another login method, such as Facebook, Apple, etc.? Are you able to log in normally with the same credentials in the regular Spotify app?

Also, in case you're trying to log in the Kids app with Facebook or Apple, for example, try tapping LOG IN WITHOUT PASSWORD and entering the email address registered to your account. You should receive an email with a link to log in.

Keep us posted.

I create real accounts.  I'm using the same login I used on the web.

I read through all the previous solutions so no need to repeat.  This is just a weird combination because prior to my removing and reinstalling the app it worked fine on this same device.

Thanks

Hey @Shatter,

Thank you for keeping in contact.

Just to make sure, would you mind checking if logging your account out of the other iPad, and trying to log in again on the affected device makes any difference?

Also, could you confirm if the app is showing any error message when you're trying to log in? If so, it would be great if you could send us a screenshot of it to take a better look.

Lastly, since this behavior could be related to an outdated OS version as well, would you mind including the exact OS version you're currently running in your next response?

We'll be waiting for your response.

So, I uninstalled the app, rebooted, reinstalled, and it worked.

weird.

I am having the same issues. Upgraded to a family account. When logging into the Spotify kids app using email and password it says my password is incorrect. I am logged in using the same details on both iPhone 15 and google pixel 7 with no issues. Spotify kids is logged in fine on my iPhone 15 but won’t work on child’s Samsung galaxy a9 tab.

Hey @NicR,

Thanks for reaching out!

Just to check, as you mention this only happens on the child's device, is there an update available for the device's operating system? It's worth checking if the Kids app is up-to-date as well, you should be to see this in Google Play Store.

Also, if you're using any VPN on the device, make sure to switch them off, as it may interfere with the app's performance.

Another thing that comes to mind, if the device you're having issues with is a children's device, we can suggest having a look at the settings and see if there are any parental restrictions set up. Should that be the case, you can try changing the current settings (if possible), to see if you notice a difference.

We hope this helps! Cheers.

Thanks for the reply.

yes it is only happening on the child’s Samsung A9+ device, all OS and apps are up to date, not using a VPN. No parental controls for Spotify.

Hey @NicR

Thanks for your reply.

Could you let us know if this has always happened or if it started happening after a specific event such as an update?

On another note, it's well worth running a clean reinstall of the app on your tablet to get rid of any cached files that might be causing trouble.

If this doesn't do the trick, could you try giving a different internet connection a go to see if the same happens? If you've been using WiFi, you can create a hotspot on your phone and use that.

Keep us posted on how it goes.
