Family Plan Login Won't Work on iPod Touch

Solved!

Family Plan Login Won't Work on iPod Touch

My daughter just got a new iPod touch for Christmas. I created a spotify family account for her, but when I try to log her in on the iPod app, it freezes and then crashes. After this, it will never open again.

If I re-install the app and sign in using my main account it works fine. Any ideas? Do I just need to wait for her account to activate? Also which login should I use? The random numbers or her email? I also don't see an option to set a device password when logged into her account.

Thanks in advance!

I worked with spotify support to get his working. They had to delete her account. Then I had to re-invite her and re-create the account and it worked the second time. Not sure what the underlying issue was.

Same issue here

Just tried both my daughter and wife's account on my wife's iPhone and they both work there. Both accounts fail on the iPod touch. So it's definitely something specific to family accounts on iPod touch.

Same here.  Accounts work fine on MacOS (app & website) but not on ipod touch.  Tried my account and this works first time.

Both accounts have been created recently.  App launches then disappears.

Can't be a app issues as it launches fine for me, must be account related.

Please help!

I have the exact same issue. Starting the app and logging in on an iPod touch works with my own account but trying the same with my daughter's or wife's accounts (which are part of the family plan) closes the app instantly after logging in.

Spotify support told me that this is a known problem and that they are working on a solution. No word about them having to delete and recreate the account. Also, I have this problem with two accounts. I honestly think this needs a technical solution in the app or on the backend.

I have same issue. Apple store couldn't fix
