I tried to get the family plan to work again.   I have paid like $30 for nothing.  Why do we have to doe work arounds for a commercial product.  

 

Please check my eariler posts from last year.

 

Do you want to help.  The Customer service is horrible.  No one even responded to last post a year ago.

Thanks for reaching out in the Community again. No worries, we're here to help!

 

Just to confirm, it sounds like the issue you're having is that you're having troubles adding your wife to your Premium for Family plan.

 

If this is the case, please try the following first:

  1. Go to your account page.
  2. If your account is already subscribed on a Premium for Family, click Premium for Family in the menu on the left.
  3. Click SEND INVITE.
  4. Enter the email address of the person you want to invite and click SEND INVITE. A confirmation email will be sent to you when they accept the invite and are added to the plan.

Keep in mind that in order to join your Premium for Family plan and enjoy Premium features each family member will need their own personal Spotify account.

 

Then, all your wife needs to do to be added to your plan, is follow the steps below:

  1. Once you've received the email with a link to join, open and click ACCEPT INVITATION. You're redirected to your account page, where you'll see a confirmation screen.
    Note: If you're not already logged in or don't have an account yet, you'll be asked to log in or sign up before seeing the confirmation.
  2. Enter your details and click SUBMIT to join the Premium for Family plan.

Note: If the person accepting the invite is doing so on the same device it was sent from, make sure the owner who sent the invite has logged out of their account page first.

 

And that's it! Once your wife has created her Spotify account and accepted the invitation to your family plan, she should be able to enjoy all the Premium features on her account right away.

It doesnt work for me. I have contacted customer support and got a standard reply. Now we are continuing to pay for a family premium product, and one of the users getting a free account. Bizarre. We have followed all steps recomended, we do live in the same place and it does not work.

And there is no one from spotfy to solve that. Very disappointed. I can see that this is not a single problem....

 

What I did as I wasignored, I found a work around (not very convenient for me, and very stupid for spotify), but I did create a new user and magic: I could be part of the familiar plan we had already subscribed (as the main member continued to get premium).

I haven caneled the family account again.  I should not need to do a work around for product you ate promoting.  That and as the previous post states, it did not work.  

 

I have also been charged $51.94 for the promotional Goole ai device that is $25.00 at best by during Christmas.  

Is this a scam?

The steps are for each user to accept an invite. The workaround is only there to ensure that a user who accepts an invite isn't already logged in with another account (which is not their own) on the device.

 

This is why we strongly suggest that the person who is accepting the invite logs of from the account page before accepting, and then goes to the email and accepts by entering their own login credentials. We're sorry to hear you already canceled the subscription, and would like to help you further if you still want to give it a shot. 

 

Regarding the Google device, it sounds like you tried taking part of the Google Home Mini offer. If you got charged the full price, we suggest that you get in touch with the support team. They'll be able to take a closer look. You can find them here

 

@marcela123 is everything okay with the new account? If there's someone in your family that had to create a new account to get invited, they might be able to transfer their playlists with these steps
