Going from standard Premium to Family Premium.

Solved!

Going from standard Premium to Family Premium.

Hey there all!

I have a quik question.

Me myself has had Spotify Premium for a little over a year now, and I love it.

So I got my family into it as well and we got a Family Premium account.

Did Spotify automatically disable my old Premium subscribtion?

Because I wouldn't like paying for the old subscribtion ánd the new one.

Thanks in advance guys!

Rick

Hello @SocialHandbrake!

Great to hear you are a long time premium customer!

You are correct, Spotify will only charge for the premium family, the old subscription will be deactivated 🙂

Hey @SocialHandbrake

Check out this support article:

Can I start or join a Premium for Family subscription if I'm already Premium?

Yes! When you upgrade your subscription from regular Premium to Premium for Family, your next payment will automatically convert to the new Premium for Family rate.

If you accept a Premium for Family invite, you're added to the subscription straight away. You won't be charged for your account any further. Your future payments are handled by the Premium for Family administrator. Any Premium time you have remaining will resume if you leave Premium for Family.

More info on the family plan:

The way Spotify Family works is that each person creates their own Spotify account first if they do not already have one. For everyone to create a Spotify account they will need their own email address.

Once everyone has their own Spotify account you then invite them to join your family plan and then they sign in with that account in the app. Make sure everyone enters the same home address when it asks for verification.
