Location Error

Location Error

Hi! I am currently unsubscribed from Spotify premium but got a family invite from a family member. When putting in the location given to me, I constantly get ‘There was a problem. Try again later.’ It only happens with this one location and I am pressing the recommended format of it from Spotify. Getting new links, logging in and out do nothing to fix the problem. Not sure on what to do anymore.

Hi there @iamnotzing,

Thanks for reaching out.

It depends on what you mean by "unsubscribed" but to be sure, check your account page and see the status of your subscription. If you still have an active subscription, especially if it's Duo or Family, then cancel it and wait for the account to revert to free. This will happen on the next billing date. After that, you can freely join the other plan.

Hope this helps.

I am on the premium family plan.

I am trying to add my son as he has just got a mobile phone (Motorola). I send him the invite link which we click on and fill in the address. We click on the correct address but every time there is a "There was a problem' page and states try again later. We have tried a lot over several days and it happens every time. It is very frustrating, especially for my son.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Thank you.

Hey there @Tr111,

Thanks for posting here.

We were aware of issues in the past few days while trying to invite and join users to Family and Duo plans. We got confirmation from our tech folks that this should be working as intended, so we suggest you try again to invite your son to your plan.

If issues continue, we'd recommend the following:

  1. Make sure your son is putting the exact same address you added to your plan. You can double-check the address by going to your account page> Manage members. There on Your Address, you can check the address.
  2. Your son can try to join the plan from a different device, such as a computer.
  3. He can also try to join from an incognito window, making sure the address is the exact same as you added.

Give them a try and let us know how it goes.

We'll be on the lookout!
