My husband was kicked out of our family subsciption

Hello,

 

I have been using Spotify since the first day it launched in Turkey, and then went ahead and purchased a family subscription where my husband joined over a year ago. He suddenly got an email a couple of weeks ago saying that he has to confirm his address, which he did. Today he was not able to launch Spotify, getting an error message saying that he does not live at the same address as me.

 

Since I have been using Spotify with a Turkish credit card all these years, my country was set to Turkey, and so was my husband's. We recently moved to Greece but we are still using the Turkish credit card so we didn't bother to change the country. Today, after this issue emerged, I changed my country to Greece and connected a Greek credit card, thinking that this can solve the issue (perhaps it is checking my husband's location). Well, it didn't solve the issue, my account still shows I live in Turkey and my husband cannot verify that he lives with me, no matter if he chooses Greece or Turkey as his country. So now it appears we are stuck; we are paying for a family subsciption which we cannot use.

I will appreciate any help!

Hey Thalia, welcome to the community!

 

Since your account still had the Premium subscription you paid for with your Turkish card, the country change won't take effect until your next billing date.

 

If you have a Greek payment method and would like to update your account information right away, it'd be best to contact our Support team via Facebook or Twitter.

 

They'll be able to revert your account back to Free so you can set up the plan with the new information.

Since your account still had the Premium subscription you paid for with your Turkish card, the country change won't take effect until your next billing date.

 

If you have a Greek payment method and would like to update your account information right away, it'd be best to contact our Support team via Facebook or Twitter.

 

They'll be able to revert your account back to Free so you can set up the plan with the new information.
