My Question or Issue
have Spotify Family. Living in Germany.
Our two Kids use the Kids App.
In the Kids App, all Disney Audiobooks can be clicked on, but then it says: Oops, Not available at the Moment.
However, in the Normal App it is available. So it must be an issue in the Kids App
App deinstalled once. Phones rebooted.
Hey @Matthias8505,
Thanks for reaching out.
Does this issue occur in the app directly or only when the audiobooks are part of a playlist that's been shared from the plan manager's account?
Let me know 🙂
Hello @Maxim
Thanks for your reply.
It Happen in the "Spotify Kids" App directly. Not all Audiobooks are affected
But definitely All Disney Audiobooks in German are affected. E.g the Lion King (König der Löwen).
In the Kids App it says "Not available" but in the Main App I use, I find it and can listen to it
In the Kids App there is a tile for this specific Disney audio Audiobooks in German.
Hey @Matthias8505,
Thanks for letting me know.
Real audiobooks are currently only available in English-speaking countries, so the one's you're talking about are likely content categorized as podcasts or albums.
In case it's an album, you can add the tracks of it to a playlist through the regular Spotify app and then share it in the Spotify Kids app 🙂
Let me know how it goes!
Hi @Maxim,
Thank you for your reply.
In fact in the "Spotify Kids App" there are hundreds of Audiobooks for Kids and this is one main reason we use the family premium. I know there is the separate audiobook subsription for spotify in english speaking countires, but this is not in germany.
Attached you find a Screenshot in my App. There is says it is an "Hörbuch" (= Audiobook). So it is no playlist or album or podcast.
The solution with the playlist and sharing it, we already did several times. But this is not very handy, even confusing, when I pack everything in a playlist for my kid. And setting up a playlist for each album seems a bit too much to me.
What I do not understand: Why do I have access to the audiobook. And my kid has not. I could resolve this by giving him the adult app. But for other content reasons I do not want this at the moment and that is , what the kids app is for.
Attached you find the selection in the Kids App (Kids Phone 1) and the error Message that occurs when clicking on it (Kids phone 2)
Thanks for your help !
Hey @Matthias8505,
Thanks for getting back.
I've checked the content you've posted a screenshot of, and it is, in fact, an album, even if it says Hörbuch / Audiobook. 🙂
You can check it yourself by clicking on the three dots next to the download button, then copying the link. When you paste the link somewhere, you'll see that it says album within the URL.
You'll have to share it through a playlist if you'd like the content to be available through Spotify Kids. I understand that there are other Audiobooks available in the Spotify Kids app, and while this specific Audiobook isn't available directly yet, it might become available in the future (but I can't guarantee that).
Let me know if there's anything else I can help with.
Hi Maxim,
thank you for your helpful message.
Okay, now I got that.
But what I don't understand: Why making tiles available in the kids App that don't work.
Is there a place, where one can see, when a certain audiobook is sheduled for release (in the kids app)? It feels odd to say "hmm... maybe this will be available, but no one know why and if" 😄
Hey @Matthias8505,
Thanks for getting back.
Unfortunately, there's no info on when certain content might become available directly within the Spotify Kids app. For now, you'll have to share content through playlists. 🙂
