Spotify family doesnt work.

Spotify family doesnt work.

I'm trying to invite a person who lives with me, but the system tell me that it is impossible to verify if the person lives with me. It is the same postal code. 

How does spotify perform that verification?

What can I do to make this work?

Hey @bemidio,

 

If you're the Family Admin, send by yourself the link generated through INVITE WITH LINK, instead of letting the system send the mail.

 
Let him accept the invite logged in with his own username in the app and in the website. He should make sure to type the address exactly as the Admin did, and also be sure all Family members use the same Internet connection (Home network) regularly. Not doing so may be the cause of him not being able to be verified.

this sounds nice, but how in the world can I check the exact address I introduced in my main account?? Mine is a very old account I even think I created it when I used to live in another house.

Same problem here, I don't remember which address I used. I can only see the postal code which isn't a good identifier here in my country.

From the reply, there are TWO main points to be verified as Spotify family members:

  • Same physical address 
  • Same home internet connection

What if admin does not remember the exact address keyed? Is there any alternative way to reconfirm this?

 

How does Spotify verify the regularity of home internet connection used? 

 

If my sister lives abroad, does that mean she can't enjoy this family subscription even though she is family?

Hey @user-removed,

 

At the moment, itโ€™s not possible to change or check the address registered on an existing Premium for Family subscription through the website.

 

If you move, or enter the wrong details, you need to create a new account and subscribe to Premium for Family on that account. Donโ€™t forget to cancel the subscription on your old account. You could fill out the contact form, and someone from Spotify will be happy to help you within 24 hrs.

 

The home connection could be checked through IP addresses. Normally, the computers at home share the same network, and therefore an IP address.

 

Unfortunately, members of a Premium for Family subscription must live at the same address. More info here.
