UNACCEPTABLE advertisements on iPad with Family Premium Sub

My Question or Issue: (Crossposting because the direct link to create new topics on the main community hub posts into Playlist Share... for... some reason.)

Let’s make one thing very clear. I have ads on my home screen, which I cannot control. I detest this, but it’s fair, I guess. You want to promote stuff, I want to ignore the irrelevant drivel you promote. 

I don’t use the home screen and only browse sections relevant to me. Ok.

But displaying pop-up ads in my app when I boot it is ducking unacceptable. Knock it off or I’m cancelling the family account. I see enough BS ads on freemium douchenozzlery, I will not tolerate this kind of rampant advertising on an account I pay over 15dollars CAD a month for the privilege to use.

Is this a planned roll-out feature or a mistake? Interested parties want to know. ASAP. See attached screenshot for the glorious marketing I was REQUIRED to view before clicking "Dismiss" to access the content I currently pay to experience without advertisements.

For pity's sake.

As an aside, I've been running under a premium family plan for over a year. It was the only multi-user plan available at the time of purchase. We have NEVER had more than two accounts linked to this plan, mine and my husband's.

A mail-in heads-up that a new Duo Plan for 2 bucks less per month was available would've been nice, Spotify. So now we have ads AND we've been overpaying for who knows how long.

I've just downgraded.

Thanks, friend, but my premium sub is activated, paid for and working fine. I'm not getting playback ads. I was simply served a popup ad on iPad. It's happened only once so far. Which is why I was assuming they were A-B testing out a possible popup ad "feature" that would potentially affect premium sub members.

I'm going to sit on this and keep an eye open. If it happens again, I'll raise a stink again. I don't use twitter.
