My Question or Issue

I have Arylic and Moode Player based streamers around the house, which are hijacked by single spotify account. If one of the family members streams the music to specific device/speaker, this device is no longer available to other family members (all accounts within family plan). Even if I restart the devices it is still locked to the account that previously used it for streaming. I don't understand this limitation. Having ability to stream music to different rooms by each family member seems to be a natural choice...

Hey there, @chopperp1,

Welcome to the Spotify Community!

What you can try is manually switch the playback from the streamer to the phone/computer from the Spotify Connect menu in the app - this should free up the streamer so that someone else can connect to it. Something else you can do is reboot the connected device.

Hope this helps! Let us know how it goes 👍

HI,

Thanks for trying, but this solution is not acceptable. Asking a teenager to disconnect each time they leave the area is just not going to work. Technology supposed to solve the problem and not create one. Currently evaluating Tidal, which seems to work. I guess teenagers don't care which streaming service they use as long as they can transfer their playlists.

Thanks
