Won't allow my email onto the family plan

Won't allow my email onto the family plan

My wife has a spotify account set up with her email - when I try to send her an invite to join my family plan that I have set up through my own email/spotify account - she accepts it... but then it redirects and asks her to log into Spotify again. Once she logs in using her email... it opens up her account, but she is not on my Premium Plan. Please help. How do I get her onto my plan?

Hey! Welcome to the Spotify Community 🙂

 

Tell your Family members to create a Spotify account each if they don't have one yet and then go over here, then go to Family, you can invite them to your Family subscription, by sending out the invite to their email, not to yours. Now you and up to 5 other Family members with their own account can listen to music simoutaneously.

I am having a similar problem, and your instructions do not solve it.  Here is the situation:

  • Both my wife and I had free trial premium subscriptions to Spotify
  • I upgraded my subscription to the Premium Family Plan and invited my wife
  • She accepted the email invitation and provided all of her information to register
  • When she tries to log in to Spotify, one of the following happens:
    • The program does not recognize her email address, but when she tries to create a new account, the program tells her that the email address is already taken
    • If she tells Spotify that she needs to reset the password, she enters her email address, the email is received, and she successfully resets it.  When she logs back in to Spotify, under the Account, it still tells her that she is on the Premium Trial plan, not the Premium Family Plan

Could it be that Spotify will let the Premium Trial run out before switching her over to the Premium Family Plan?

It may well be that your Fakoly subscription isn't showing up, because of the trial. I would wait until the trial finishes and then check these steps. 


May I ask you to confirm that the account you subscribed to and the one you are logging in to are the same?

 

When you successfully upgrade to Spotify Premium, you receive a confirmation email. Please make sure, that when you are logging in to the account, you are using that username on the email. If its a ten digit number, use the log in with facebook tab. Since you're on a Family subscription, you, as Subscription Manager, can also check the username from over here, under the "Premium For Family" tab. 

If you managed to find the account, or if you are having troubles finding the right account, please come back to me and we can look into some further troubleshooting.
