using Spotify family simultaneously on Sonos and mobile simultaneously

using Spotify family simultaneously on Sonos and mobile simultaneously

Hi,

I've got Spotify family premium. When I started I only had Spotify premium. I've got an app on Android and I've got Spotify coupled with Sonos (my account).

Now, I've got 3 accounts left on my Spotify family premium.

Last week I went out and I noticed my stream on my mobile was interrupted each time. Reason: my daughter wanted to use Sonos as wel simultaneously.

Is it somehow possible to clone my account (so keep my library) and assign this cloned account to Sonos? Would that require a separate mail adres?

Or even better: would it be possible to be more lenient and not cut off my stream towards Sonos if I use my mobile. After all, there are 3 accounts left. Cut off streams should be based on family account and not on subscriptions within that account. That would also perhaps be nice setting / configuration option somewhere.

Best regards,

Sjaak

Hey @sjaakd, thanks for reaching out to the Community!

I understand where you are coming from. Regarding cloning accounts, it technically is not possible to just "clone" an account because every Spotify account needs its own unique email address. But, you can create a new Spotify account and then transfer everything from one account to the other following these steps. This is a workaround if you would like to add another Spotify account to your plan and connect that solely to Sonos while maintaining all of the content in your library.

Spotify is meant for personal, non-commercial use. While multiple people can be signed in to a Spotify account, it is not recommended because only one person can listen to content at a time per account. This is one of the reasons why Spotify introduced Family and Duo plans. There is more information about the Premium Family plan here.

I'll be here if you need a hand with anything else!

I realised later that it might be possible to connect multiple Spotify accounts to Sonos. I'll get back on that if that works.

Hey @sjaakd

That is also an option. There is more information about how to do that on Sono's support site here

Let me know how this goes.

I have a similar problem. When I’m listening to my Spotify premium family plan at work and my wife starts Spotify through Sonos at home with her users, mine gets paused. Why is this happening??
