Hi there,
Thanks for the post.
I'll jump in here to clarify some things 🙂
When you switch plans from Premium Family to Duo, all member accounts on the Premium Family will revert to Spotify free. Not to worry, they won't lose access to their accounts, their saved songs, playlists and albums. The only difference will be that they'll hear ads between songs and won't be able to download music for offline listening. Their music library and profiles will remain intact.
The same goes for your personal account. You won't lose your music library if you switch plans.
You can learn more about switching subscription plans - here.

I alex,
thank you so much for your answer.
I have a question just to be sure I understand correctly.
I have to go on my account, click change plan and then on the new plan I want (in this case duo).
After that me and my sister will go back to have a free account but we will keep our music?
So when the new plan is activated? Duo is a premium account without ads right?
Thanks again for your help.
Hi,
Thanks for the reply. Of course, Duo is a Premium subscription without ads 🙂 As @Alex so wonderfully explained, changing the subscription has no effect on the music library you have, as these two things are not connected in any way. Yes, the members will revert to free but you will be able to send a new invite to whoever you want to join you.
Hope this clears things up.
Got it, thank ypu both for the detailed explaination and have a great day.
@Joan & @Alex
So, if I invite my daughter afterwards again to the Duo account, she will get all ger playlists and statistics again? She will kill me, if she loose something…
Hi Kiramor,
I did it with my sister and can confirm that you don't lose anything. You go back to have a free account then choose a new plan again, no loss
Happy Holidays 🙂

My Question or Issue
