Merging Existing Hulu Account (not limited commercials) with Spotify Premium for Students

Hello,

I am attempting to merge my current Hulu account (no commercials, 11.99 per month) with my Spotify Premium student account for the discounted price. I am aware that doing so would mean going to the limited commercials plan with Hulu and am fine with that. With that being said, when I attempt to go through the steps provided after the "Get Started" prompt on the information page about the deal, I am eventually told that the accounts cannot be connected and that the offer is only available to those with limited commercial plans at Hulu. As I said before, I am willing to go to that plan but would like to be able to get the discount and keep my current Hulu library. What is the best method to do this?

A possible solution I thought of would be:

1) Waiting for my subscription to Hulu to expire, renewing it for the limited commercials plan price, and then attempting to connect the account with my Spotify account. This might work, but I am wary of doing so as I would likely be charged the 7.99 Hulu price before I can change to the 5 dollar deal by merging with Spotify.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

The issue listed above has been resolved. I recommend contacting Hulu's customer support and addressing it with them as the solution involves changing your account to a limited commercial plan.

I just had this fixed by hulu, they removed my current hulu subscription and I was able to merge the accounts after. I hope this works for you!

Hey guys I figured it out for those still trying so I talked to customer support and they told me

first 

1) cancel your subscription to Hulu 

2) log out of your Spotify 

3) log back into Spotify and click on the Activate Hulu 

4) it’s gunna go to the Hulu thing where it tells you to make one it’s okay just put your email and it will tell you to click under it (it will be red) and just log in and that should do it. 

Just double check on your account if it says that you’re going to be billed by Spotify then congratulations you’re done and if it doesn’t I would suggest calling Hulu support and tell them you have a problem activating your Hulu with Spotify. Hope this helps.
