Student discount

At the moment I study in The Netherlands and I pay for premium as I like my music ad-less. However as a student I would like the discounted version as money isn't something I have in abundance. But an easy way to switch from regular premium to student premium isn't available. In my mind it should be as easy as me proofing my enrolment and than you lowering the fees. Why isn't this an easy option. And why should I first unsubscribe, while I paid for a full month and than have the uncertainty of not knowing how fast and how good your student approval system

So I want to know why it has to be so difficult

It's actually not that difficult! Just sign up at https://spotify.com/student so you'll be charged at the student discount rate on your next billing date.

It would be as easy as just signing up if I could keep the same payment system as for normal premium. Now I have to have a credit card as for when I pay for normal premium a can pay through ideal.

Yeah. Unfortunately, not all payment methods are available for the student discount at the moment so you'll have to choose the available payment method or wait until Spotify makes more payment methods available for the student discount. 🙂
