My Question or Issue

hi all, i've been using the student plan for a while now, and while in the past my payment did fail because of a legit reason (not enough money in the account), this time it wasn't the case. at around 1:30am, my payment was deducted from my bank account, and i got a message about it once it did. however, about an hour later i get an e-mail saying that i can no longer use the plan, and the app also says that my plan has been paused. upon checking the spotify receipt, it says that the payment has failed. why is this so? please fix this issue. thanks.

Thanks for posting this thread in the Community and for the screenshots!

 

It's worth mentioning that if you were charged from your bank account, but the payment didn't go through to Spotify for some reason and the receipt shows a failed payment, you should receive your money back shortly. As your account has been reverted to free, in this case you'd simply have to re-subscribe and you can do it directly from our web page: https://www.spotify.com/student/

 

There can be different reasons for a failed payment such as a temporary connection issue for example, it doesn't just have to be because of insufficient funds. In order to make sure that everything's in order with your payment method, I recommend checking out the details in this help article.

I have the same problem (also on the student plan) and went through the steps you have given and found on the help page. The system however, still will not accept my payment. I have even tried switching the plans. Nothing. What will fix this

Welcome to the thread and thank you for already trying with some troubleshooting steps.

 

If it's still not working and to make sure that everything's in order even backstage I recommend reaching out to support via one of the ways mentioned here.
