switching from premium to student

Hi i have spotify premium but want to change to a student account, do i need to cancel the premium first before changing or do i just switch in my account settings?

Hey @sarahryan354,

for safety, I'd first cancel the old Premium subscription, but normally that should be done automatically when you subscribe to Spotify Student.

I want to switch from my longstanding premium account to a student, but I’m afraid I’ll lose my playlists and saved music. I’ve been a student for almost 2 years now, but paying for premium because of all my data, as mentioned above. Will I lose my data if I cancel and resubscribe as a student?
