Game development similar to Hitster.

Solved!

Game development similar to Hitster.

Hello, I am in the process of developing a music-based interactive game, similar to Hitster, in which players will guess songs based on audio fragments and related clues. The game would utilize music tracks available on the Spotify platform.
I would like to ask for guidance on the necessary steps to create such a game and the licenses or permissions required for using Spotify’s music content. Specifically, Licensing Requirements, Integration process, comercial distribution, etc.
Any assistance or information you could provide would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you.

Hello! According to the developer policy, specifically point III under prohibited applications, point 2 states: "Do not create a game, including trivia quizzes."

Please remember that Spotify is intended for personal, non-commercial use only. You can find more details about this in the Developer Terms and Policy.

Based on this, it seems you would not have permission to create a game and use Spotify for any commercial purposes.

I created a card game called Rave and wanted to make it more interactive by attaching song codes to each card that could be scanned.

Is this allowed? I found branding information here and I essentially want to use it like the merchandise example, but this is a slightly different use case
