Charged after switching to free

Charged after switching to free

I was trying to switch my Premium subscription to the student discount, and ended up cancelling my subscription completely because it wouldn't work. It says I have Spotify Free on my account, yet I was charged the $4.99 student charge anyways, after telling me it wouldn't work.

Did you receive a payment confirmation email from Spotify?

I received an email cancelling my subscription but no email on the
confirmation of the charge. My account was still charged though.

In this case, the charge should show on your statement as ‘pending’. This means your bank has put a temporary authorization on the funds, but no money will actually been taken because Spotify has not verified your student status.
