My Question or Issue: I have an individual premium plan. My wife uses the account as well. How can I listen to 2 different streams on different devices at the same time. I was in my car and I could see that she was playing music at home on our Alexa device. How can I play music in my car if she wants to play other music at home??
Hey @user-removed ,
Thanks for coming to the Community.
Unfortunately, you can only play on one device at a time, per account. This means that your wife must create her own account if she'd like to listen to music on Spotify at the same time as you.
Hope this helps 🙂
Hi there @user-removed,
Thanks for reaching out to the Community and welcome!
Keep in mind that according to our Terms and Conditions, Spotify is for personal use only. This means that it's not possible to stream on multiple devices at the same time with one account.
In this case, your wife should create her own account, and we suggest taking a look at our other subscriptions, like Premium Duo, which is for two people living at the same address, or Premium Family, which is for up to six people who live together.
With those subscriptions, all the members can enjoy the benefits of a Premium subscription at a discounted price with their own personal accounts. You can find more info about Premium Duo here and Premium Family here.
If you have any questions, the Community is here for you.
Cheers!
Even with family edition you cannot stream multiples devices link to one account.
With big family all have phone. Sonos and google home I cannot have it work perfectly. I switch to amazon prime premium how has better multi device / account concurency management.

I ended up having Tidal and Spotify because my Spotify account is linked with our Echo Dot at home, then when my son asks Alexa to play Bob Sponge soundtrack, my streaming stops... hopefully someday Spotify will offer a better solution for this corner case.
The problem with the way Spotify treats streams, is that as a family, we have internet connected devices in the home that are connected back to just one Spotify account. For example Alexa and Google Play. So whoever's account is used back home can never be used in the car. The house members are off using the household account and my device as the head of household can't simultaneously stream from Spotify. We signed up for a duo account, but when I did it pretty much broke all my home devices. And we had to go back onto a singular account. I think Spotify should change the way they treat accounts. As a duo account, why can't I opt to have two simultaneous streams on a single account? Or as a family account we could have four simultaneous streams. Think about like how annoying it would be on Netflix if you had to log off and log back on to different accounts every time you want it to stream from a different device within a household?? It's just pretty stupid the way Spotify has done this. And it should be changed. Right now I'm looking at other audio streaming options for my family because Spotify is just not working.

My Question or Issue
Bonjour,
J'ai un abonnement Premium personnel.
Puis-je écouter spotify soit sur un smartphone, soit sur un autre smartphone, soit sur un ordinateur, mais jamais sur plus d'un appareil à la fois.
I have a personal Premium subscription.
Can I listen to Spotify either on a smartphone, another smartphone, or a computer, but never on more than one device at a time.
Merci !
